Common questions

Why can't I hide credit card payments?

For stores in the United States and Canada that aren't on Shopify Plus, Shopify doesn't let any app hide or move credit card payment methods. CODWise can't change this, and shows a notice in the app when it applies to your store. You can still hide cash on delivery and other methods.

How quickly do rules take effect?

Within seconds. Saving or switching on a rule updates your store's checkout settings straight away. If a checkout was already open, refresh it or start a new one.

How do I test a rule?

Switch the rule on in CODWise.
Open your store in a private or incognito window and add products to the cart. Use a real checkout, not the editor preview, so you see what your customers see.
Go to checkout and enter a delivery address. Rules that use country or zip code only apply once there's an address.
Look at the payment or delivery step. To test rules on customer tags or order history, log in as a customer who matches the rule.
Change the cart, for example by dropping below your cart value limit, and check that the method comes back.

You don't need to place an order. Reaching the payment step is enough.

My cash on delivery method isn't hidden

CODWise finds payment methods by name. The COD templates match any method whose name contains "Cash on Delivery" or "COD". If your manual payment method has another name, open the rule and add that name to the methods it applies to. Then check that the rule is on and that your test cart meets its conditions.

What else doesn't Shopify allow?

Apps can't rename methods that show as a logo, such as PayPal or Klarna. Shop Pay can't be renamed or moved.
When you reorder shipping options, the cheapest one always stays first and selected. Your reordered options go below it.

How do I uninstall CODWise?

In your Shopify admin, open Settings, then Apps, find CODWise and choose Uninstall. Checkout goes back to showing every payment and delivery method, Shopify cancels any paid plan, and we delete your rules and settings. Our privacy policy has the details.
